As part of the commemoration of the 2018 International Youth Day as declared annually by the United Nations, Rise Networks with the support of Lagos State Government is organizing the 2018 Lagos Youth Week this August.

The Program will cover an entire Week across all the 5 Divisions of Lagos State i.e. IBILE – Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe and we expect at least 50,000 – 100,000 students, young professionals, young artisans, young traders, graduates of tertiary institutions, young entrepreneurs to participate in the various Events lined up for 2018 Lagos Youth Week.

For young people outside Lagos and in Diaspora, you can follow the events with the hashtag #LagosYouthWeek2018 for 7 Straight days through LIVE Online Tweets and Posts.

The Lagos Youth Week is set aside to recognize and celebrate the enterprising and courageous youth in Lagos, who strive daily serving in various capacities, running businesses of different kinds and sizes, creating jobs for other citizens making the State the 5th largest economy in Africa leading in all sectors that contribute to the state’s development.

The Lagos Youth Week will serve as a pivotal reminder of the intelligence, innovation, effervescence and creativity of Youth and the steady progress Lagos has made by mainstreaming the voices of Youth, creating platforms for their empowerment and strengthening their roles in shaping the future of Lagos, Nigeria and Africa.

The week-long programme of activities will be aimed at creating safe spaces for Youth through education, economic empowerment and political inclusion and young People especially those at the grassroots will showcase the talent, skills, entrepreneurship and leadership capabilities of the Youth of Lagos.

The Lagos Youth Week will feature a Youth Conference, Job Fair plus Exhibitions by Youth led Businesses and Organizations, Expo to showcase opportunities available to young people by LASG Agencies in Lagos, a Musical Concert and 100 micro-businesses run by Youth in all the 20 Local Governments in Lagos State will win a total sum of N10 Million Naira at N50 000 each to boost their businesses and scale up their growth in the 2018 Lagos Local Government SME Competition.
