Tyrant FIFA Destroying Football In Colonial Disguise

(By Solomon Oforji)

I want FIFA to explain how a court order is government interference, when Aminu Maigari-led NFF board was duly removed from office by NFF congress in accordance with FIFA approved statues. Moreover can’t a government demand for accountability of public fund provided to such organization? FIFA should apologize to Nigerians because a court order is from the judiciary which exercises their own power from that of the ruling government in accordance with separation of powers and rule of law.

With regard to the recent suspension of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from all international football by Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA), I pulse to ask if FIFA is truly democratic. Circling back to FIFA leadership and how they persist to sit on in power without any change in Leadership with only a mere excuse that they have a project they want to complete, holding at ransom; Federations presidents to give them their votes with whatever in the backroom.

Let’s go back to the Nigeria issue. I want to ask if FIFA and Football Federations exist in the space. After all, FIFA itself is subject to the jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration in Sport (CAS) in Switzerland, which is itself subject to the jurisdiction of the Swiss judicial system even on sport-related matters, especially on public policy, fair hearing, and Jurisdiction. Is Nigeria Football Federation an exception not to be accountable to a Nigeria Judiciary system on matter of public policy?

I want FIFA to explain how a court order is government interference, when Aminu Maigari-led NFF board was duly removed from office by NFF congress in accordance with FIFA approved statues. I can understand that this is why corruption is rotting FIFA because absolute power corrupts absolutely. I’m not surprised anymore about the World Cup hosting bribe scandals.  FIFA should allow a fair hearing to occur. I praise the Nigeria Sports Ministry on how they approached the whole issue and I believe that FIFA should investigate from both sides before making a judgment.
If FIFA is truly concerned about football development in Nigeria and other less developed football countries, they should know/see how these NFF presidents misused money meant for football development. We can curb corrupt FIFA from the grassroots, by making sure that patriotic individuals from those countries represent them in FIFA congress.

And I encourage Nigeria people not to succumb to FIFA’s tactics. There are so many ways to kill a helpless dog. One of those is by giving it a bad name.
One of FIFA’s tactics is not to allow our house (Nigeria) to be in order, so that it is in a confused state before and in every tournament. How can an African side win the world cup? Cameroon was tricked and accused of game fixing and it all gone. Nigeria’s NFF kept our boys all night awake; eve of their game against France, arguing about sharing formula of their match allowances, which was given out by the NFF president? Is it how an NFF president and Co. should lead?
Reform is badly needed in football. A stitch in time saves nine.
