Evans Akanno, the phenomenal creative and success driven young man, is RISE NETWORKS Youth of the week.

Welcome to an explosive week!

This week it’s all about the young, vibrant and success driven young Evans, who is not only an inspiration to young start-ups in Nigeria but young entrepreneurs and business driven individuals out there who need to know that you are never too young to run your own business, and as such has earned our recognition and appreciation.

Evans Akanno, born in Nigeria to Mr and Mrs Akanno, started accomplishing great feats very early in life. Coming out tops in his high school, Innocent Comprehensive High School Surulere in 2005, where he graduated as the overall best graduating student, before going on to study B.Sc in Industrial Chemistry at the Imo State University.

After graduation, Evans was motivated to learn graphics designing and his source was videos and articles on the internet which he leveraged on to build  his skill before going mainstream as a freelancer in 2010.

It wasn’t always a roller coastal ride for the 27 years old C.E.O, what is now a successful start-up actually began as a passion that started with an internship at Nigerian Petroleum Exchange (NNPC – NipeX) in 2008. It was here that the design bug caught and stuck, and in 2010 he ventured into graphics as a freelance designer, a position he maintained for two years before launching out full time as a brand and social media strategist with Jumia Nigeria, then onto Konga.com as a Creative Strategist in 2013, before moving on to greater heights by setting up CREGITAL Agency on the 20th of April 2015 with a small team of four comprising of a project manager, web developer, graphic designer and himself (creative lead).

In three years CREGITAL has grown to become one of the most thriving start-ups in Nigeria, currently in its element having been awarded The Best Website Development Company in October 2016 by the Nigeria Technology Awards and winning the Future Awards Young Creative Professional category in that same year, he went further to seize the Creative Professional of the Year award at the 2016 edition of The Future Awards Africa. Undaunted by the many challenges facing the country, CREGITAL is a success story and an inspiration to every young dreamer out there, and that is why Evans Akanno is RISE Youth of the Week.

Our Youth of the Week is an enterprising and smart working young man from a hard working generation who has proven beyond all doubts that passion can be built into a force to be reckoned with if only one can be focused and determined enough to pursue it, then nothing is capable of stopping it from yielding the desired purpose.

His advice to young people out there who are struggling and trying to build their start-ups into a world class empire is simple “Save some money, research your market, make sure profit and fame are not the only driving forces, Pray and go for it!

Some of CREGITAL clients include MultiChoice, Social Media Week, Zenith Bank, Google, among others.
